Interview with Floor Manager Rikard
Earlier this year, the LeoVegas blog team were lucky enough to sit down with the talented team over at Evolution Gaming. Our first interview was with Floor Manager Rikard who is the team manager of the LeoVegas Chambre Séparée Team.
Chambre Séparée is our own private Live Casino studio located at Evolution Gamings premises in Riga, Latvia. Chambre Séparée (En. separate room) is a private Live Casino environment where only LeoVegas members can enjoy Blackjack, Roulette and various monthly promotions such as iPhone raffles, cash bonuses and free spins.
Each day between 17.00 – 02.00 two members of the Chambre Team join the Celebrity Blackjack table. One host dealing the cards and one co-host keeping the banter up. A very social way of playing mobile casino, which Rikard believes we will see more of in the future.
As soon as we sit down to chat to Rikard, he exudes professionalism. Calm, collected, articulate and in control.
Get to know Rikard
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Public Relations.
Previous occupation: Mentor, Live Dealer, Event Organiser; Everything from kids’ parties to weddings.
What have you learned since you joined Evolution Gaming?
I’ve learned what an important role feedback plays. It’s all about helping people to improve.
I’ve always been a big sportsman, playing lots of team sports. I like to keep that same team spirit alive within my team at work, I let them know that we are in this together.
What three words would you use to describe LeoVegas?
Entertainment; it’s the first thing that comes to mind and a huge part of what makes LeoVegas who they are.
Two-way communication: (Yeah, I know that’s three words right there.) That’s the beautiful thing about a Live Casino, it’s not a talk show. The dealers aren’t just talking to the players, the players can actually chat back.
Gambling: There’s no denying the gambling element is part of the fun. There’s more of a thrill when you win by going against the odds.
Thanks to two-way communication, the Game Presenters can applaud players who do well, which makes it even more thrilling.
How does your role bring value to the player?
Ultimately if the Live Dealer are happy and feel better, they will in turn make sure the players are happy and feel valued. Nobody likes to go worried to the table, so I try to help them through open communication and support. We also ensure that the dealers are aware of the kind of mannerisms they use. It’s always best to communicate verbally, of course, but there are a few international non-verbal cues that are universal.
For example, we always encourage our dealers to applaud good hands. But on the flip side, other behaviour may come across as fidgety or rude.
We try to teach the presenter not to use any ambiguous gestures. We don’t want anyone getting the wrong impression!
This is one of the most important reasons why we actually watch the dealers through a screen, rather than live. So that we see what the player sees.
From your experience in what direction do you believe Live Casino is heading?
At its core, Live Casino is all about getting closer to reality. As it is the technology already allows us to bring players into the casino. A player could be riding the bus to work anywhere in the world, well almost anywhere, and they can sit at a table and interact with the dealers.
There are plenty of people who don’t like the crowds, or perhaps a casino isn’t near their house, Live Casino allows them to overcome these obstacles. I think in the future Live Casino will get even closer to reality, perhaps players will be able to choose if game presenters can actually see them too, bringing the experience closer to real life.
Meet the dealers
Rikard runs a tight ship, with some of the best Live Dealers in the industry. In partnership with LeoVegas, Rikard’s team at Evolution Gaming runs regular offers and specials. Why not pop into the Chambre Séparée now and ask one of the dealers what is up for grabs today?
You can play in our Chambre Séparée anytime of the day or night, but if you’re a social and chatty person, we recommend to login in after 17.00!
